Cheryl L. Castner, M.S., C.C.C.-SLP, CBP, is a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Maryland and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  She has over 30 years of experience in the public schools and for nearly 20 years, she also served in the home health care setting working primarily with geriatric and brain-injured populations.   Since 1985, she has maintained a private practice in various locations around the Washington, D.C. area.  Her experience in speech-language therapy has included the diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders in children and adults from the ages of 4 to 84.

In addition to her work as a speech-language pathologist, Cheryl has studied and trained extensively in the field of energy healing since 1995.   This refers to techniques which help a person access their own, natural healing abilities.  They are gentle, noninvasive and complementary to traditional medical care.  These as well as similar techniques are currently being used locally in medical offices and hospitals.  In addition to receiving her Reiki Level 3 training in 1996, Cheryl became a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner with the International BodyTalk Association in Sarasota, Florida in 2001.  Her instructors have included a medical doctor, naturopathic doctor and several senior BodyTalk instructors.   The specific techniques she offers during an energy healing session include Reiki, BodyTalk, Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and the use of essential oils and flower essences.

What is unique about my services?

Speech - When indicated, and if the client is amenable, additional services in energy healing are offered in order to support the client in their progress.

Energy Healing – Cheryl has learned through her training in BodyTalk that the best results are often achieved through honoring the innate wisdom inside of each person.  This just means your body’s ability to know exactly what it needs at any moment in time.  This information is accessed through a simple biofeedback technique called “muscle testing.”
